60-year-old grandparents criticize 10-year-old granddaughter’s piano playing, single dad kicks them out for laughing at her, the internet rejoices in his ‘mama bear’ actions

When you're growing up, every little thing could send you into an insecurity spiral of overthinking, hyperanalyzing, and assuming that you're worthless or untalented. It's easy to instill fears and traumas in children because they're so innocent, so practicing patience with them is of the utmost importance, especially from family and guardians. In the situation below, the narrator is a single dad who's trying to protect his daughter from her grandparents of all people. Her grandparents come over, and she's only 10-years-old and just started learning how to play piano. As she begins to play, her grandparents laugh at her mistakes, and her father can see her shrinking on the spot. He reacts strongly, without second guessing himself he kicks them out. They act flabbergasted, but the father insists. 

The story is one of heroism, it's not everyday that your parent wants to protect you to this extent, even though they should. He knows that if he lets them laugh in her face, that she'll be doomed and discouraged from playing piano the rest of her life. I also grew up playing piano, but no one ever laughed in my face.
